The main purpose of the HSA is to work together to support the Religious,
Academic, and Athletic programs offered at the school. We take the lead, helping to coordinate volunteers and/or fund-raising necessary to conduct such programs and events such as:
• Back to School Supply Kits
• First Communion Breakfast
• Back to School Teacher/Staff Lunch
• Jr. High Activities
• Welcome Back Coffee
• Art Fair
• Welcome Back Roller Skating Party
• Ice Cream Social
• DuPage PADS Dinner
• Battle of the Books
• Teacher/Staff Year-end Lunch
• Santa’s Secret Shop
• Year-end Picnic
• Spelling Bee
• Catholic Schools Week Activities
• Grandparents/Family Day
• Fun, educational and inspirational School Assemblies
Some of the fund-raisers we have hosted and/or support include:
• Fast Food Benefit Nights
• Used Uniform Sales
• Fall and Spring Book Fair
How we do all these things and more, is through the support of parent volunteers. We have an Officer Board that helps to lead these efforts. Officially, all parents of students enrolled at Sacred Heart School are members of the HSA. Therefore, everyone is encouraged to help out and/or participate in any way you can. Whether you are great at planning events, or perhaps have some fun, creative ideas and/or talents we can leverage, or even if you are just open to helping move or shuffle chairs around, your active participation is key to ensuring the continued success of these programs. We have been very fortunate at Sacred Heart School to have a long tradition of great support from our Parent volunteers – a tradition we hope will continue for many years to come.
HSA meetings are held the 1 st Tuesday of each month, August - June, from 7 – 8:00 p.m. in the Parish Center Meeting Rooms. Each meeting consists of an opening prayer, new topics submitted by parents (if any), review of the budget, recap of recently completed events and review of upcoming events. All parents are invited to attend.
To submit a New Topic request to add to the agenda (you must plan to be in attendance), send an email to a member of the HSA Board by the last Monday of each month. The request will be reviewed and the final agenda will be published on the last Thursday of the month and posted to the HSA page of the school website.
Sacred Heart School will be joining up to 7 other locations along Maple Street in hosting the Lombard Christmas Mart on Saturday, November 7th. If you are interested in being a vendor at the event, please see the information sheet and registration form below.
