8th Grade Sportsmanship - Boys and Girls The Lou Boudreau Award This award is given to the 8th graders who demonstrate the most outstanding sportsman and leadership qualities. These awards were named for the amazing baseball player / manager of the Cleveland Indians. Mr. Boudreau later went on to a successful career in broadcasting. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1970. Mr. Boudreau was a guest speaker at one of our award ceremonies and was so impressed with our athletic programs that he graciously offered to donate a trophy in his name. Mr. Boudreau was known for his talents, innovations, his ability to play the game intelligently, and his reputation for being a fair and ethical player and person. The recipients of this award share these qualities with the late, great Lou Boudreau. 8th Grade Girls MVP - Janik Award This award was started in appreciation of Cas and Jo Janik who were the originators of the track program here at Sacred Heart. 8th Grade Boys MVP - The Dilullo Award This award is in memory of Mr. Anthony Dilullo.
